Rafael is one of those really special Cuban dancers that touches your heart with his movements. He was born in Havana, graduated with honours from the Cuban National School of Art and Dance, spending a further three years with the National Contemporary Dance Company of Cuba, before coming to the UK .
During his career he has reached multiple outstanding achievements in various dance shows around the world. Rafael has won no less than two World Open Salsa Championship titles and “The best male Cuban Salsa Performer Award” at The UK Cuban Dance Awards in 2006. He also starred in various west end shows.including the world famous Lady Salsa show in the West End Theatre in London.
Rafael is widely recognised as one of the very best proponent of authentic Cuban Salsa, Mambo and Rumba dance style and is still a very active, performing dancer (and percussionist!), performing professionally as a modern dancer, and teaching Cuban Salsa, Mambo and Rumba for many, many years.
Rafael has taught at previous Salsa feel the heat events and it is a great pleasure to have him back with us once again and we are sure that many participants will look forward to joining his classes.
